I have been practising yang style Tai Chi since I was 14, initially learning from our yang instructor Martina Marie-Luise Paulinus. It was suggested I begin to take part in advanced Yang style training and I was given the opportunity of working with Master John Ding too which was a great experience. Marie then suggested I train to be a Yang style Tai Chi Instructor and I qualified in 2006 through the ICHM. I was happy to assist in her classes, but have been teaching regularly since finishing university in 2011.
I was first introduced to Chen style Tai Chi through Instructor Stuart Agar and from 2009 I began training with Grand Master Liming Yue. I have gained valuable insight into Chen Forms experiencing training of empty handed forms, Qigong exercises and weapon forms including: Wu Qin Xi, Silk Reeling, both Chen 11 forms, Chen 18 and Lao Jia sections 1 and 2, as well as straight sword, Spear, Fan forms 11 and 16 and some push hands practice too.
Additionally, in 2012 I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to China with Master Yue. It was an amazing trip which brought me to the origin of this ancient art and was delighted to practice Tai Chi and Qigong at so many wonderful sites along the way, gaining even more experience of Chen style Tai Chi.
In 2014 I was honoured to be accepted as a Senior Indoor Student of Grand Master Yue and gain a level 3 Duan Wei instructors Certificate.
